Hello to all our Supporters – As many of you know, we are at this time in the process of reorganizing our current longtime charity “Socks For Siberia” into a new entity, “S.O.N.G.” (Supporting Orphans Nationally & Globally.) Socks For Siberia began its Mission helping orphaned children in Siberia in 1998 and has provided much needed support to thousands of children in more than fifteen facilities in four regions of Siberia, Russia. Although support and work continues to be needed in Siberia (and we remain committed to continuing our Mission there) we have become aware of orphaned children elsewhere who are in very dire need of support and assistance, including right here in America. Because our current Mission Statement, By-Laws, etc. restrict us to only being able to conduct our work and provide support to children in Siberia, we have made this decision to reorganize to allow us to help and support orphaned children globally. Because of the time necessary to complete this transition, we are currently in a “gap” year and have postponed most of our events until next year, including our annual Spring Family Festival which we have held every June at Hyland Orchards in Sturbridge, Mass. for the past ten years. Please visit our new website www.supportingorphans.org and sign up for our newsletter so we can keep you informed of our progress and future events for our new Mission. This transition will take effect on January 1, 2018 and donations to Socks For Siberia will continue to be accepted through our website www.socksforsiberia.org until then. All funds and assets in Socks For Siberia will be transferred to S.O.N.G., Inc. at that time. Thank you for all your support over the past 20 years in helping orphaned children. We could not do the work we do without your support! YOU are great….and we are grateful! With warmest regards, Michele & Wally Connor & all of us at Socks For Siberia ... See MoreSee Less
